ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 17, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — A new music video from Grammy Award-winner Kaya Jones gives Westerners a glimpse into the lives of the children living in poverty outside an Ethiopian landfill.
The new video, released on Shiloah.tv (http://shiloah.tv), draws attention to the people of Korah, the community built around the Koshe landfill on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital. More than 130,000 individuals, including thousands of children, call this place home, where daily life unfolds in the shadow of refuse.
The “Treasured (Remix)” video includes new footage filmed at Forge Films Studio for the upcoming Treasured documentary miniseries, set to air on the Blessed by Kaya Jones show on Shiloah.tv. It merges Jones’ passionate vocal performance with raw visuals of children working, playing, and surviving amid unimaginable conditions.
The song “Treasured” was written by Jones and her creative team after learning about the crisis in Korah. Together, they transformed grief and urgency into melody and lyrics designed to raise awareness and resources for the community.
“It was unbelievably obvious that we needed eyes to be on this cause,” she said. “I only know how to write songs, sing, and worship through anything that I’m dealing with – and with my team, we turned that conviction into ‘Treasured.’”
Jones hopes the new video will magnify the ministry behind the music and inspire others to action. Currently, the Treasured Foundation is pursuing a partnership with Habitat for Humanity to create sustainable housing for those living in the area.
The video is available now on Shiloah.tv, Jones’ own free streaming network. The single has also been submitted for Grammy consideration.
