LAGUNA HILLS, Calif., Feb. 6, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — Award winning short story Dean Caldwell announced today a challenge to those North Americans who are involuntarily stuck at home or at an airport because of the continued brutal cold weather to see how many of his 50 U.S. states (published in alphabetical order from “Alaska” to “Wyoming”) short stories can they listen to in less than one hour on Amazon’s Audible Books.
This could help to provide some mental escape for those trapped listeners while also generating some net profit donations to the American Red Cross who are helping stranded Americans 24/7 in this extraordinary cold spell.
“Being stuck inside either at home or worse, at an airport, due to the weather is a horrible experience,” said Dean Caldwell. “As a child I lived in Alaska for three years and after graduating from high school I then lived in Germany for three years also. But perhaps connecting with one, two or all fifty of my U.S. short stories that are exclusively only available on Amazon’s Audible Books. It may help some to take their minds off from their current winter worries. Hope so.”
