WASHINGTON, Jan. 14, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — They will be calling for America’s political and faith leaders to pray, support and stand in solidarity with the Iranian people as they fight for freedom and regime change.
The banner will read; “Stand And Pray For A Free Iran!”
The activists will be gathering on Thursday, January 15, at 11:00 AM on the southeastern side of the US Capitol Building. (The House Steps.)
Some reports estimate as many as 20,000 Iranians have been murdered by the regime.
Alexei Laushkin, Founder of Kingdom Mission Society, comments:
“As a Christian, I am inspired by the courage of the Iranian people who are risking everything in the streets to demand their basic human rights. Any nation’s primary duty is the protection of human life and the preservation of fundamental freedom. The killing of over 2,000 protesters is a catastrophic betrayal of that mandate.
“We cannot remain indifferent to such a profound struggle for liberty and human rights. We have a moral responsibility to stand in solidarity with those who refuse to let their voices be silenced by fear. We pray this is the hour that a more representative government emerges in Iran.”
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states:
“As thousands of Iranians are being murdered on the streets by corrupt government forces, it is critical the United States government and America’s faith community stand in solidarity and prayer with these courageous freedom fighters.
“We are praying for peace and protection for all Iranians who are seeking a better future for their families as they fight to reclaim their country, so that all may live in freedom and dignity.
“The world takes great inspiration from the thousands who are filling the streets of Iran today as they are risking their lives for the cause of freedom and human rights. May their sacrifice and public witness prevail over tyranny and oppression.
“With respect to the Iranian people, our political leaders must embrace the words of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel when he said; ‘We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.’”
