WASHINGTON, Dec. 5, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — Christian leaders Alexei Laushkin, Founder of Kingdom Mission Society, and Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, stand in solidarity with the Afghan-American community in condemning this horrific act of violence.

To the Families of Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, on behalf of the Afghan-American community, please accept our deepest condolences, solidarity, and heartfelt sympathies during this time of profound loss and pain.

Members of the Afghan-American community gathered on Sunday, November 30, 2025 for a candlelight vigil in memory of Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and offered heartfelt prayers for the full and speedy recovery of Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe. Their courage, sacrifice, and service to this nation are honored with deep gratitude.

Specialist Beckstrom gave her life in the line of duty, and Staff Sgt. Wolfe continues to fight for his. Their unwavering commitment to protecting all Americans—including Afghan-American families who found safety and a new beginning in this country—commands our deepest respect. We extend our sincere condolences to Specialist Beckstrom’s loved ones and hold Staff Sgt. Wolfe and his family close in our prayers.

The Afghan-American community condemns the heinous attack on the members of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., with profound sorrow and in the strongest possible terms. The loss and injury caused by this act have shaken us all.

America has long been a welcoming home for people seeking safety and opportunity—a “shining city on a hill” that has offered refuge and dignity to those fleeing war and upheaval. Afghan-Americans have contributed to the strength and progress of this nation. Having endured decades of conflict and displacement, our community understands the pain of senseless loss. For more than forty years—joined in recent years by new arrivals seeking refuge—we have built our lives here and proudly call this nation home.

In this moment, we must not allow the actions of a single individual to define an entire community, nor let one tragic event overshadow decades of trust, partnership, and shared sacrifice. No community should be punished for the wrongdoing of one person. We are proud to be part of this nation and remain fully committed to its safety, unity, and future. We stand ready to work with our neighbors, leaders, and fellow Americans to ensure that our communities feel protected, valued, and able to thrive.

May this tragedy strengthen our collective resolve to build a more compassionate, peaceful, and united America for all who call it home.

With deepest respect and sympathy,
The Afghan-American Community
