ORLEANS, Mass., Feb. 10, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — Gloriæ Dei Cantores (Singers to the Glory of God) and Creare Symphonia, under the direction of Richard K. Pugsley, present GRANT US PEACE on Feb. 20 & 21 at the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans, MA. These concerts feature living Eastern European masters Arvo Pärt and Pēteris Vasks whose music—born out of suffering and a longing for freedom and beauty—touches the soul and transcends the noise and chaos around us.
Estonian Arvo Pärt invites listening, moral reflection, and compassion for the suffering of our brothers and sisters.
Latvian Pēteris Vasks’ work is both heart wrenching and heart soothing. He says, “Most people today no longer possess beliefs, love, and ideals. The spiritual dimension has been lost. My intention is to provide food for the soul…” This program includes his luminous setting of Mother Teresa’s poem:
The fruit of silence is prayer.
The fruit of prayer is faith.
The fruit of faith is love.
The fruit of love is service.
The fruit of service is peace.
Exquisite music performed in a stunning space with mosaics, frescoes and stone carvings from international artists.
