VALLEY FORGE, Penn., Feb. 18, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — At a time when nearly seven in ten U.S. fourth-graders are reading below proficiency (2024 Nation’s Report Card) and Bible usage among American adults still trails pre-pandemic levels by an estimated 14 million readers (American Bible Society, State of the Bible 2025), there has never been a more urgent time to put Scripture into the hands of children. Scripture Union invites families and grandparents to discover TIMELANDERS — a quarterly Bible magazine designed to take children ages 8–11 on an immersive journey through God’s Word.
“Children today are growing up in a world competing for their attention, and too many are missing out on the life-changing power of God’s Word,” said Gail A. Martin, President of Scripture Union-USA. “TIMELANDERS puts Scripture directly into a child’s hands in a way that’s exciting, interactive, and deeply engaging. We believe the Holy Spirit teaches and transforms through God’s Word — and that’s true for an eight-year-old just as much as it is for an adult. This magazine is about giving every child the chance to discover God’s story for themselves.”
Launched in 2025, TIMELANDERS is a three-year, 12-issue adventure through the Bible. Each quarterly magazine contains 13 weekly “trips” to biblical locations where children explore a passage of Scripture, meet the people involved, and hear their story.
“Time and time again, I have met people from around the world who began reading the Bible daily with Scripture Union at age 8 — and have continued that habit for decades. Some of those testimonies have come from people in their 80’s,” Martin added. “Our hope is that TIMELANDERS begins that same lifelong habit for a new generation of children.”
TIMELANDERS is designed for use by families and churches alike, with a built-in Travel Guide role for adults who want to walk alongside children in their faith journey. No prior Bible knowledge is required — the magazine meets every child where they are. A Year 1 four-issue subscription is available here at scriptureunion.org.
